50 things about me
(in no particular order):
1. I don't do mornings. As far as
I'm concerned the clock should start just before noon, although it can then
comfortably go on to 3 am.
2. I moved from my native Denmark to Switzerland in 1999 and bought a house in
France 2003. I like
being a foreigner.
3. I drink a lot of Coffee.
4. Married to Dorotea.
5. I would consider myself a cat person.
6. I have no television and am NOT missing it but I see a lot
of movies
7. I have been on the Internet since 1995 and worked with
computers since 1980.
8. My favourite computer game is
Sid Meier's
Civilization III
9. If left alone, I can read an entire book in a day.
10. My favourite author is John Ronald Reuel Tolkien.
11. I give excellent massages.
12. I’m also a good cook; even though I make it up as I go
along.
13. I don’t like to
be late.
14. I prefer silver to gold .
15. I am a centred-liberal.
16. I'm horribly allergic to mosquitoes.
17. I'm very scared by the concept of general anaesthetic.
18. I never really understood the point of sports.
19. Taurus with moon in Leo, but don't believe in astrology.
20. I am a Buddhist.
21. Despite this, I am fascinated by all religions and belief systems.
22. I'm an
empath (both sending and receiving).
23. I don't smoke.
24. Other than caffeine and occasional alcohol, I will under no circumstances
touch any form of drug. I don't necessarily have a problem with other people
doing so, although in my experience people on drugs tend to be far less
interesting to talk to than they think they are.
25. I am, in fact, a bit of a control freak, when it comes to my own head. I
can't stand the thought of not being in total control of what I'm thinking
saying and doing.
26. For the same reason, I don't get drunk either. Fortunately, I have high
alcohol tolerance levels, so should the occasion demand, I can happily drink
almost anything and still persuade Peter Piper to pick a peck of pickled
peppers.
27. Tipple of choice is French Cognac, Danish Snaps or Italian
Grappa.
28. The design concept of Victorian Gothic is incredibly appealing. In an ideal
world, I would live in a house that looks as if it should belong to the Addams
family. Preferably with a cavernous library with dark red walls and rapiers
hanging over the fireplace and a phrenology head and a stuffed raven in the
corner.
29. I can't sleep if the room is completely dark.
30. If (probably when I'm about 80 years old) I ever decide to go
back to university,
I would like to do my PhD thesis on the history of religion and psychology.
31. Guilt and regret are the two most pointless emotions I can think of. A
significant part of my energies are devoted to avoiding them.
32. I used to be a ballroom dancer and do Karate. Despite not having done either
for decades, I am very proud of still having good reflexes and being
capable of
doing the Waltz.
33. I am a member of
aSmallWorld and LinkedIn
34. I'm very good at remembering trivial information. Otherwise, my
memory is getting distressingly sieve-like.
35. I sing along to most things, actually. I love singing. I would love to be a
proper singer.
36. I am Albus
Dumbledore
and belongs in The
Mysteries of Udolpho,
37. My first crush was on Wendy from Peter Pan.
38. I really wish I could paint.
39. My favourite movie is
"Der Himmel über Berlin (1987).
40. I don't have any piercing. Not even in my ears.
41. I only get really properly angry once every six years or so. It is
apparently quite impressive when I do.
42. I pick at things and love to touch.
43. Travelling is fun, but it is for some reason getting to be much less fun than
it used to be. And I don't like feeling like a tourist.
44. I would as a rule far rather be indoors than outdoors.
45. I am sensitive to smells.
46. I'm virtually impossible to personally offend, but that's not an invitation
to try.
47. I love getting mail, but am useless at writing letters.
48. I am 51% extravert and 49% introvert which leads to much
confusion. On the one hand I have a very deep-rooted need to spend a lot of time
by myself (and I get deeply miserable if I am denied it for any reason) and on
the other I have an equally deep-rooted need to be surrounded by people.
49. My bedroom walls are orange
50. I firmly and unshakably believe that all men and women are created equal,
regardless of race, nationality, sexuality, number of limbs or anything else,
and thus have equal rights to live their lives any way they choose to, as long
as it doesn't interfere with other people doing the same. And it genuinely
flummoxes me how anyone could think it could possibly be otherwise.
Talk to me if you really want to know any more.
